About Mob
Mob is on a mission to create a world of home cooks, because cooking changes lives. It is the best way to eat throughout the week. It improves your health. It lifts your mood. It saves you money. We will achieve this by building the ultimate app for home cooking. Making weekly cooking fun, easy and delicious. It will take the friction away from home cooking, so anyone can become an accomplished home cook. It took us 24 months to reach 100k subscribers - and just seven months to double that to 200k. Our next goal: scale to over 1 million users by the end of 2027. Behind it all is a creative, data-driven team that collaborates to build experiences that ladder up to our mission. As a fast-paced startup, our core value is simple: make it happen, succeed together.
What You’ll Be Doing
We care deeply about design. For us, it’s both how it works and how it looks. As our Lead Product Designer, you will own the end to end user experience and set the bar for design quality across the app, from user insight and interaction design through to polished UI and rapid prototyping. This is a senior individual contributor role, working closely with Product, Engineering, and Growth to use user research, experimentation, and strong craft to drive clear improvements in engagement, retention, and user satisfaction. Attention to detail and an uncompromising focus on users are non negotiable, as your work will directly shape how the product is experienced and valued.
What does success look like?
- You own the end to end user experience across the Mob app and set a clear, compelling vision for what a best in class home cooking experience should feel like.
- You drive meaningful improvements in core user behaviours, particularly engagement and retention, through thoughtful design, experimentation, and iteration.
- Your work delivers measurable impact, not just good-looking outputs.
- You raise the bar for design quality across the product.
- The app becomes more intuitive, joyful, and coherent, with clear journeys and fewer points of friction for users.
- You use research, data, and experimentation to make confident trade offs.
- You focus the team on what genuinely moves user behavior, rather than what is easiest or loudest.
- You influence Product, Engineering, and Growth through strong design thinking and execution.
- You bring clarity to ambiguity and help shape decisions through your work, not by seeking consensus.
- You evolve Mob’s visual identity and design system in a way that supports scale, speed, and consistency, while maintaining a strong sense of craft.
- You leave the product in a demonstrably better place than you found it, with higher standards, clearer direction, and results to show for it.

What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years experience as an in-house Product Designer at a consumer-facing app, ideally in a subscription-based business.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centred thinking, excellent visual and UI craft, and high-quality interaction design delivered in fast-paced environments.
- Proven track record of owning work end to end across web and mobile, from problem definition and research through experimentation, execution, and iteration.
- Deep passion for consumer product design and for solving complex UX, UI, and interaction challenges with simple, elegant solutions.
- Strong growth mindset, with experience designing for activation, retention, and engagement, including use of A/B testing and experimentation.
- Confident working with design systems and contributing to their evolution.
- Highly proficient in visualising ideas through rapid prototyping, primarily in Figma, but comfortable using other tools or code where appropriate.
- Experienced in user research and usability testing, with the ability to synthesise insights into clear, actionable product and design improvements.
- Strong decision-maker who can prioritise effectively, operate under tight deadlines, and bring clarity to ambiguous problem spaces.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and efficient, without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- Excellent collaborator and communicator, able to articulate and defend design decisions, influence without authority, and present confidently to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
You’ll thrive in this role if...
- Have a product-led mindset, always prioritising the user experience in line with the mission.
- Are ambitious, self-starting, and comfortable thriving in ambiguity, with a strong bias towards action and continuous improvement.

- Don’t wait to be told what to do; ask questions, find answers and make things happen.
