The RoleMob is looking for a Junior Content Editor to help create, optimise, and manage our editorial output across Mob and Mob+. This role will be responsible for the smooth operation of all administrative duties, including building articles and recipes on the CMS, proofreading, and helping to publish online content and copy.

Based in Hoxton, Mob is a food-based social media platform aimed at students and young professionals. The Mob team is made up of dynamic, talented individuals who constantly strive to build the platform whilst maintaining a fun and inclusive working environment. The successful candidate will need to have a background in editorial or copywriting and have excellent attention to detail. It is preferable (but not essential) that they have a passion for food, experience using a CMS, Mailchimp, and a familiarity with SEO and keyword research. If possible please share samples of your work by including either a portfolio or links to your published articles or other written work along with your application.

You will be working at an exciting start-up company. The ideal candidate will be someone who can work well in a small team and work well across a number of different objectives.

What you will be doing as our Junior Content Editor:

  • Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit any recipe content and written content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency. Ensure that the writing is clear and easy to understand.
  • Formatting and Layout: Format recipes and articles on the CMS to match the website's style and house guidelines. Ensure that the layout is visually appealing and user-friendly.
  • SEO Optimisation: Optimise recipe titles, meta descriptions, and content to improve search engine visibility. Use relevant keywords and ensure that the content follows SEO best practices.
  • Create Recipe Collections: Organise recipes into appropriate collections and ensure they follow the SEO guidelines listed above.
  • Quality Control & Site Maintenance: Ensure that all new and historic content adheres to the website's quality standards, including accuracy, consistency, and adherence to dietary guidelines (if applicable).
  • Content Planning: Assist in planning the content calendar, including seasonal recipes, holiday specials, and thematic content.
  • Analytics: Monitor website analytics to track the performance of recipes and content. Use data to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
