At Moat, our people are central to delivering safe, high-quality homes and services that enable our customers to thrive. By supporting, developing and empowering our colleagues, we ensure they can provide the best possible service to the communities we serve.
We’re looking for a Data Protection Administrator to join our team and play a key role in delivering our data protection processes and supporting compliance across the organisation. As a Data Protection Administrator, you’ll report into the Data Protection Lead and work closely with the Data Protection Coordinator, with a primary focus on managing Subject Access Requests (SARs). This will form the majority of your day-to-day work, including logging requests, gathering and reviewing information, applying redactions, and ensuring responses are accurate, compliant and delivered within statutory deadlines.
You’ll maintain clear audit trails and ensure all SAR activity is recorded accurately in line with data protection requirements. Alongside this, you’ll manage queries received from both customers and colleagues through the Data Protection inbox and internal ticketing systems, communicating directly to provide clear, accurate and empathetic responses on a range of data protection matters.
The role will involve supporting the management of data breaches by recording reports, tracking actions, supporting investigations, and helping to ensure lessons learned are embedded. You’ll maintain key registers and records, process CCTV requests, support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and contribute to wider compliance activities to help Moat meet its legal and regulatory obligations.
We’re looking for someone who has strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and can manage competing priorities while handling sensitive information. You’ll be comfortable following established procedures, identifying potential risks or issues, and building positive working relationships with colleagues and customers.
What We’re Looking For
- Proactive and detail-oriented individual with experience working with personal data, casework, or compliance-related processes.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally when dealing with sensitive information.
- Demonstrable experience working with data protection, information governance, or handling personal data in a regulated environment.
- Practical experience supporting or processing Subject Rights Requests (e.g. DSARs) or handling structured casework involving sensitive personal data.
- Experience applying confidentiality and data handling principles in day-to-day work.
- Strong attention to detail with experience maintaining accurate records and audit trails.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Good understanding of data protection principles (e.g. UK GDPR basics).
- Experience drafting clear, accurate written responses (e.g. customer responses, casework, or reports).
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and experience using systems to manage casework or requests.
- Ability to follow defined processes consistently and escalate issues appropriately.
