Responsibilities
- Delivering and contributing to ecological assessments, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs).
- Undertaking habitat surveys, ecological assessments and technical reporting.
- Supporting biodiversity net gain (BNG), habitat enhancement and nature-positive development projects.
- Working with clients, developers and multidisciplinary teams to integrate ecology and biodiversity into development projects.
- Contributing to projects that balance development with the protection and enhancement of the natural environment.
Requirements
- A background in ecology, environmental science or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in ecological consultancy, habitat surveys, ecological assessments or biodiversity-related projects.
- Knowledge of relevant ecological legislation, guidance and assessment methodologies.
- Strong technical report-writing, communication and organisational skills.
- An interest in biodiversity, nature conservation and sustainable development.
For the Senior Consultant position, experience managing projects, working directly with clients and delivering ecological assessments independently will be particularly relevant.
