Samudra Oceans is a venture-backed start-up building technology to support environmental compliance across offshore industries. Working at the intersection of climate, ocean systems, and heavy industry, the company partners with offshore energy and maritime operators to help them meet regulatory and sustainability requirements.

This is a foundational hire in a fast-moving, “build-from-zero” environment with significant ownership and long-term upside.

We’re looking for an Electronics Engineer with strong mechatronics experience to help design and develop hardware systems deployed in offshore environments. This is not a pure oceanography role — it sits closer to offshore energy (oil & gas, offshore wind) and maritime operations. The successful candidate will combine technical depth with real industry familiarity and commercial awareness.

You’ll play a key role in shaping early product development, working closely with the founding team, and helping bridge engineering with real-world offshore applications.

  • Design and develop electronic and mechatronic systems for offshore deployment
  • Work on hardware integration (sensors, control systems, embedded electronics)
  • Collaborate on product development from prototype through to deployment
  • Ensure systems are robust, reliable, and suitable for harsh marine environments
  • Interface with offshore operators, vendors, and partners

Requirements:

  • Strong background in electronics engineering with hands-on mechatronics experience
  • Experience in offshore energy, oil & gas, offshore wind, or maritime/shipping sectors
  • Familiarity with offshore equipment, vendors, and industry landscape
  • Understanding of how offshore projects are commercialised and delivered
  • Existing network within offshore energy or maritime industries
  • Exposure to deploying hardware in marine environments
  • Commercially aware — understands how engineering fits into customer needs
  • Well-connected or able to quickly navigate offshore industry ecosystems
  • Direct exposure to offshore industry leaders and customers
