MNRecruit has partnered with Samudra Oceans to hire a Business Development Manager/ Sales Strategy Officer to support the company’s next stage of commercial growth. Samudra is developing cutting-edge ocean technology used by industries operating in the marine environment. As demand grows across ports, offshore wind, energy, and defence, they are looking for a commercially driven salesperson to open doors, build pipeline, and close high-value deals. This is a true hunter role designed for someone who thrives in early-stage commercial environments.
The Sales Strategy Officer will own the full sales cycle, from cold outreach to signed contract — targeting new customers across ports, offshore wind, oil & gas, defence, and environmental compliance sectors. This person will act as Samudra’s boots on the ground, opening strategic conversations and helping build the company’s commercial footprint across Europe and beyond. Working closely with senior leadership, the successful candidate will help refine the go-to-market strategy, messaging, and pricing while actively closing new business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities across priority verticals
- Build and manage a personal sales pipeline from day one (with some warm leads provided)
- Travel to customer sites, industry events, and partner meetings (minimum 5 days per month — built into the role)
- Work closely with the CEO and CSO to refine messaging, pricing, and commercial strategy
- Represent Samudra at conferences, trade shows, and industry events
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to product and science teams
- Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets
Candidate Profile
- 2–5 years of B2B sales experience
- Background in maritime, ocean tech, environmental services, energy, or deep-tech hardware is advantageous
- Demonstrated track record of closing deals, not just generating leads
- Comfort selling technically complex products with longer sales cycles
- A highly self-directed working style with the ability to operate autonomously
- Confidence engaging with port authorities, procurement teams, energy operators, and C-suite stakeholders
- Willingness to travel 5+ days per month across Europe and internationally
- A genuine interest in the ocean economy and climate technology
Compensation
- Uncapped commission structure (OTE up to £150k+)
- Equity options as part of Samudra’s pre-Series A package
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
- All work travel expenses fully covered
Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to join a high-growth ocean technology company at a pivotal stage, working directly with leadership and helping build the commercial foundation of the business. For the right salesperson, it offers the chance to shape market entry, close impactful deals, and play a key role in the future of the ocean economy.
