St Joseph's Catholic College, Aberdeen is seeking a temporary part-time (30hrs p/w) Groundsperson to join the team as soon as possible for the remainder of the year with the possibility of extending. St Joseph's Catholic College is a co-educational, Year 7-12 school committed in partnership with the community to meeting the academic, social, physical and spiritual needs of its students. The teaching community is deeply committed to helping students achieve their goals with a strong focus on Catholic identity and the development of the whole person.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Groundsperson, under the direction of the principal, contributes to the effective and efficient operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of maintenance and upkeep of the school's grounds. The Groundsperson will be required to support the school with building and grounds maintenance, cleaning and opening/closing the school premises.

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively supporting the Catholic ethos and culture of the school.
  • Demonstrated experience performing maintenance tasks unsupervised.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the school's maintenance program.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining school grounds and buildings or similar experience.
  • Experience or willingness to comply with relevant security provisions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current Work Health and Safety requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate III or Trade Certificate in relevant field (desirable).
  • Current paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2025.
