We are looking for a talented and experienced European power and/or carbon market analyst to join our highly successful and fast-growing global markets team. We deliver real-time analysis and insight on global commodity markets to a broad client base that includes traders, portfolio managers, economists and strategists on both the buy and sell-side.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on trading or market-facing research experience, strong analytical skills, and deep familiarity with European power and/or carbon markets. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are highly analytical, ambitious, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. We are a team of experienced analysts, researchers and former traders drawn from energy/utility companies, price reporting, investment banking, and research industries.

The principal responsibilities of the positions include:

  • Providing real-time analysis on European energy markets covering power and/or carbon markets.
  • Analyse market data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Contributing to regular thematic research.
  • Interaction with clients during the trading day.
  • Working closely with the senior energy analysts and the wider markets team.
  • Developing new analytical tools and research products.
  • Developing market connections and managing existing relationships.

Essential requirements for this role:

  • Minimum: 2:1 undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in energy markets trading, market analysis, or market-facing research in European power or carbon markets.
  • Strong familiarity with European power markets and/or European carbon markets (EUA/UKA).
  • Strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to analyse market data and translate it into actionable insights in a real-time environment.
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills.
