We are looking for a former STIR trader or trading desk analyst with direct experience of STIR markets. The ideal candidate will have gained experience trading or covering sterling, dollar, or euro area markets with a solid knowledge of swaps, futures, repo, and cross-currency basis. You will also be highly proficient in providing insight and analysis of FV, RV, carry-and-roll, block trades etc. Additional specialist knowledge in areas such as FI options, curve building, money market microstructure, and monetary transmission would also be highly advantageous.
MNI provides pioneering real-time analysis of the global economy and financial markets to a diverse global client base of fund managers and traders. We are a large and rapidly growing team of former traders, experienced economists, and FI/FX/Credit/Commodity analysts from the buy-side and sell-side.
The principal responsibilities of this position include:
Analysis of sterling and euro area interest rate markets.
Providing rapid analysis and insight around key events, as well as proactively identifying trends, themes, mispricing, and emerging risks.
Real-time interaction with buy-side and sell-side clients.
Close collaboration across the MNI markets team, and particularly with our FI analysts in London and New York. You will also be closely coordinating with the credit and macro teams to maximise synergies from other subject experts.
Essential requirements for this role
Substantial direct experience of trading or covering sterling, dollar, or euro area interest rate markets.
Deep knowledge of interest rate products and the functioning of money markets.
Proactive, comfortable delivering in a real-time environment, and a high attention to detail.
Strong academic background with a solid undergraduate degree and preferably a related graduate degree.
