Manual Grinder Location: Coventry

Shift: Day Shift 08:30am – 17:00pm + overtime

Hours: 40 hours per week, full time

Employment Type: Permanent

Pay: £16.00 – £18.00 per hour + overtime rates

We are looking for an experienced Manual Grinder to join our precision engineering team. This is a hands‑on role working across a range of high‑quality manual grinding machinery, producing precision components to tight tolerances for a variety of industries.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for setting and operating a range of manual grinding machines, ensuring components are produced accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate manual grinding machines including Jones & Shipman Universal and Surface Grinders and Churchill Universal Grinder.
  • Grind components to fine tolerances and high surface finishes.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings.
  • Carry out wheel dressing and machine setup adjustments.
  • Maintain a clean and organised working area.
  • Work independently and as part of a skilled engineering team.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience operating manual grinding machines is essential.
  • Experience with universal, cylindrical and surface grinding preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Understanding of tolerances and inspection procedures.
  • Self‑motivated with a positive attitude toward teamwork and productivity.
