We are looking for an experienced Manual Grinder to join our precision engineering team. This is a hands‑on role working across a range of high‑quality manual grinding machinery, producing precision components to tight tolerances for a variety of industries.
The Role
- You will be responsible for setting and operating a range of manual grinding machines, ensuring components are produced accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate manual grinding machines including Jones & Shipman Universal and Surface Grinders and Churchill Universal Grinder.
- Grind components to fine tolerances and high surface finishes.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings.
- Carry out wheel dressing and machine setup adjustments.
- Maintain a clean and organised working area.
- Work independently and as part of a skilled engineering team.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience operating manual grinding machines is essential.
- Experience with universal, cylindrical and surface grinding preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Understanding of tolerances and inspection procedures.
- Self‑motivated with a positive attitude toward teamwork and productivity.
