Our UK Insurance Technology practice empowers some of the biggest Insurance clients to solve their most complex business problems and transform their organisations through embedding the latest technology. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a vibrant, experienced team of Analysts, Developers, UX Designers, and Architects in the Insurance business. Alongside your career development, you will gain exposure to leading global insurers and understand why our clients value our insights and experience.

As part of the EY Consulting Insurance Technology practice, you will work across a portfolio of engagements that challenge you in areas such as Insurance Core Platform implementations, leveraging emerging technology within the insurance domain, and technology-enabled business transformations. Our focus on EMEIA means our team spans several European countries, with continued growth of about 30% year-on-year. We seek enthusiastic individuals with an agile mindset, problem-solving skills, insurance industry knowledge, and/or technology consulting experience to support our capabilities and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to establish a business-driven vision for their IT systems, processes, and infrastructure, applying best practices to enhance capabilities.
  • Create IT strategies and architecture roadmaps, including transition stages toward final goals.
  • Understand the full architecture stack: network, data, application, system, security, and integration architectures.
  • Develop artefacts to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences.
  • Define and document key design decisions based on engagement objectives.
  • Coordinate with business and technical teams during solution design and delivery.
  • Provide expertise in evaluating and selecting software products, standards, and designing configurations.
  • Lead practice and people development activities, building high-performing teams.
  • Support architecture governance in line with industry standards, IT policies, and client policies.

Skills and attributes:

  • Minimum 8 years experience as an Architect.
  • Over 10 years in Financial Services Technology.
  • Knowledge of ERD/UML/process diagram notations.
  • Experience with enterprise integration patterns.
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions to stakeholders and develop strong business relationships.
  • Deep understanding of Insurance (General, Specialty, Life).
  • Experience with technology packages like Guidewire, Fadata, Duckcreek, Pega.
  • Expertise in technology architecture: enterprise, solution, infrastructure, security, data.
  • Experience with large-scale delivery methods, including agile and waterfall.
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions, AI, microservices, and emerging tech.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage requirements across technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working with senior management and across organizational levels.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Strong Insurance industry knowledge.
  • Proven delivery on large technology projects.
  • Familiarity with SDLC, Agile, ITIL, COBIT frameworks.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Amazon/Azure cloud stacks.
  • Experience with TDD/BDD practices.
  • Knowledge of blockchain, microservices, and emerging tech.
  • Understanding of market trends and industry impacts.
  • Business development and client management experience.
  • TOGAF 9.1 and/or Zachman certifications.
