Responsibilities
Introduction to Role
The UK Finance Division (DFIN) is responsible for:
- Steering the financial and budgetary strategy of SGIL and SG London Branch, including investment and development policies;
- Managing scarce resources (liquidity and capital) and regulatory reporting to the PRA for SGIL;
- Measuring and analyzing the profitability of activities across clients, businesses, and geographies, as well as resource utilization;
- Certifying accounts, ensuring accounting quality, valuation methods, and compliance with external auditors and regulators;
- Providing expertise on accounting standards, taxation, resource management, and regulation.
Societe Generale International Ltd (\’SGIL\’) is a Designated Investment Firm regulated by the PRA and FCA, subject to UK CRR Prudential reporting requirements. This role supports SGIL in the UK, a wholly owned subsidiary of SG SA, integrated within the Global Markets Division (\’MARK\’).
Key Purposes of Role
- Within the team responsible for producing UK CRR Prudential Regulatory Metrics, including Liquidity, Capital, Large Exposures, Leverage, and FINREP reporting.
- Responsible for producing, reviewing, analyzing, and certifying prudential metrics submitted to the Head of Finance Regulatory Production and CFO.
- Oversee production in Bucharest, ensuring process accuracy and data quality.
- Investigate issues, validate data with the business, and ensure controls are in place before submission.
- Provide cross-cover on metrics production, gaining exposure to various regulatory metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce, review, analyze, and certify prudential metrics; review reports from the Bucharest team; present certification packs to senior management.
- Maintain up-to-date process and methodological documentation.
- Address data quality issues through formal governance.
- Monitor metrics against Early Warning Indicators and report on risk appetite during governance forums.
- Contribute to reporting for SG Group, including Solvency and Liquidity metrics, with validation and certification.
- Handle ad-hoc requests from business lines.
- Continuously improve processes, leveraging automation.
- Produce monthly and quarterly reports with assurance packs for coordination with Group.
- Provide inputs for ICAAP, ILAAP, and Recovery & Resolution Planning.
- Collaborate with Asset & Liability and Treasury teams on solvency and liquidity management.
- Assist with regulatory framework changes and projects.
- Perform simulations of new product impacts.
Profile required
- Deep knowledge of UK CRR regulations—Liquidity, Solvency, FINREP.
- Strong understanding of balance sheet modeling and its regulatory impact.
- Robust accounting knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills and team relationship abilities.
- Proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written skills for international technical communication.
- Desire to acquire comprehensive knowledge across various topics.
- High level of autonomy after an initial learning period.
