MMP Consultancy is seeking x4 Building Surveyors on behalf of a Local Authority in central/south east London to support their expanding housing team. The role will require working 2-3 days per week in the office, with a significant amount of time spent carrying out site visits across the borough. The rate of pay is £43ph (Umbrella). This role has been created due to an expansion of the team and increased demand across housing services. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of surveying duties, ensuring properties are safe, well maintained, and fit for purpose.
Responsibilities
- Carry out property inspections and site visits across the housing portfolio
- Manage and assess adaptations to meet residents' needs
- Conduct structural surveys and provide technical recommendations
- Investigate and manage complex damp and mould cases
- Prepare reports, specifications, and schedules of work
- Liaise with residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure works are delivered in line with quality, safety, and compliance standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Building Surveyor within a local authority or housing association
- Strong technical knowledge of residential building defects and maintenance
- Experience dealing with damp & mould, structural issues, and adaptations
- Ability to manage a varied and active workload, including site-based work
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with a range of stakeholders
