Overview
MMP Consultancy is seeking a Repairs Surveyor on behalf of a Local Authority based in Portsmouth. This is a temporary ongoing position with an initial 12-month period length. This position is paying 29ph on an umbrella rate over a 37-hour working week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for improving homes and making a tangible difference to local communities, and will ideally have a background in building repairs, surveying, or asset management.
As a key member of the Repairs Management Team, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality building repair and voids service. You will help ensure that repairs are undertaken in line with the council\’s NEC3 Term Service Contract, including managing contractor payments and carrying out appropriate audits.
Responsibilities
- Survey and assess the condition of housing stock and corporate assets
- Update stock data and evaluate repair requirements
- Diagnose defects and determine the most appropriate course of action
- Issue repairs and manage a varied portfolio of planned repair projects
- Deliver and oversee projects such as external and communal decorations
- Deliver and oversee projects such as fire safety upgrades
- Deliver and oversee projects such as roofing and window replacements
- Deliver and oversee projects such as structural repairs and extensions
- Deliver and oversee projects such as electrical works and cladding
- You will manage individual projects with a contract value of up to 50,000, typically around 15,000
