MMP Consultancy is seeking Triage Repairs Surveyors on behalf of a Consultancy, who is working with a Housing Association, to support the effective triage of responsive repair queries. The role will require working 1 day per week in the office in Surrey/London and 4 days working from home. The rate of pay is £300pd inside of IR35. This role has been created to improve the efficiency and accuracy of repair diagnosis, ensuring that jobs are correctly directed either to a contractor or for further inspection. The successful candidates will play a key role in improving right-first-time performance and reducing unnecessary property visits.
Responsibilities
- Triage incoming repair queries from the call centre and email requests
- Assess reported issues (e.g. plumbing faults, general maintenance) and determine the appropriate response
- Decide whether repairs can be raised directly to the contractor or require a pre-inspection
- Provide clear and accurate technical guidance to support efficient job allocation
- Reduce unnecessary inspections while ensuring quality and compliance is maintained
- Support improvements in responsive repairs performance and service delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Surveyor, Repairs Surveyor, or Senior Repairs Officer within social housing
- Strong understanding of responsive repairs processes and common building maintenance issues
- Ability to diagnose repair issues remotely based on limited information
- Confident decision-making skills with sound technical judgement
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with call centres and operational teams
