Job Title: Interim Health & Safety Manager Location: Essex Day Rate: £450 – £500 (Inside IR35) Our client, a well-established organisation based in Essex, is seeking an experienced Interim Health & Safety Manager to lead on all health and safety matters across the business. This role will play a critical part in ensuring compliance with legislation, promoting best practice, and embedding a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert advice and proactive solutions to ensure health & safety compliance across the organisation. Develop, maintain, and manage arrangements for identifying, documenting, and controlling health & safety risks. Act as the appointed responsible person for health & safety purposes. Promote and support a positive health & safety culture throughout the organisation. Ensure statutory, legal, and regulatory health & safety responsibilities are met for staff, contractors, customers, and visitors. Identify and monitor potential emergency risks, recommending or implementing mitigation actions. Oversee operational delivery to ensure full compliance with health & safety policies, procedures, and statutory requirements. Stay up to date with evolving legislation, regulations, and codes of practice, ensuring managers and employees are informed of any changes. Engage and manage external health & safety consultants where necessary. Candidate Profile: Proven experience in a senior health & safety management role within a complex organisation. Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, compliance frameworks, and best practice. Excellent communication and influencing skills to promote a positive safety culture.
