Overview
MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Small Works Manager to join a Fire Safety business. My client is offering a permanent position paying £45,000 - 50,000p/a plus a company car or car allowance of £350ppm. My client has offices in Whyteleafe, Surrey and clients they manage all over London. We can offer hybrid working with 1-2 days p/w in the offices and the rest of your week working in London or from home.
Responsibilities
- Follows SSI UK and DEF Network Business Code of Conduct. Always acts with integrity and due diligence.
- Provides excellent customer service by establishing the customer's needs, working efficiently and productively to plan and implement the agreed schedule of work.
- Attends site to survey and assess the design requirements.
- Compiles technical quotes in line with the relevant standards and utilising the company standard pricing tools (build sheets) to ensure the correct margins are achieved.
- Optimises the conversion rate from quote to orders by liaising with customers.
- Leads and supports Projects and Small Works Engineers, ensuring they have clear direction, resources, and guidance to deliver work to the highest standards.
- Collaborates with sub-contractors, Regional Operations Managers and FSM's to organise and arrange completion of works.
- Maximises the use of the company ERP system.
- Manages expectations of internal and external stakeholders by maintaining clear communication and ensuring alignment throughout projects.
- Prepares regular progress reports for management and maintains accurate project records.
- Identifies potential risks to project delivery and implements mitigation strategies.
- Develops and maintains strong professional relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues to ensure we deliver on time and to the highest standards.
- Raises purchase orders for subcontractors and parts.
- Monitors shipped parts to engineers or subcontractors on the company ERP.
- Invoices customers and follows up.
- Conducts projects handovers and ensures any post-completion issues are resolved promptly.
- Upholds health and safety requirements, always working in a safe manner, with the correct PPE, uniform and equipment required for the assigned work.
- Liaises with QHSE Manager for quality audit purposes and monthly health and safety Toolbox Talks.
- Leads by example adhering to Company Values; Respect & Diversity, Professionalism, Customer focus, Innovation, Simplicity.
