MMP Consultancy are proud to be partnering with a number of public sector clients to recruit an experienced Damp, Mould & Disrepair Surveyor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a lead role in managing complex cases, driving service improvements, and ensuring compliance with key legislation including Awaab’s Law and HHSRS.
The Role
- You will lead the Council’s damp, mould and disrepair function, ensuring cases are effectively inspected, diagnosed and resolved.
- You’ll also manage a small team of surveyors, providing technical leadership and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support a team of Damp & Mould and Disrepair Surveyors
- Lead on complex cases from inspection to resolution
- Ensure compliance with Awaab’s Law, HHSRS and housing legislation
- Carry out surveys, prepare schedules of work and oversee remedial actions
- Monitor performance, quality assure reports, and track case progression
- Work closely with contractors, legal teams and housing services
- Support vulnerable residents and ensure clear communication throughout
What We’re Looking For
- Strong technical knowledge of damp, mould, building defects and disrepair
- Experience within social housing or local authority environments
- Knowledge of housing legislation, HHSRS and landlord obligations
- Proven experience managing or supervising surveyors
