They are leaders in their field and due to continued growth they now have an exciting new opportunity for Apprentice Service Engineers / Skilled Medical Field Service Engineers to join their existing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineering / electrical minded individual to start and build a career. Both roles will be home based and will involve travel throughout Aylesbury and surrounding areas, as well as other parts of the UK and will involve spending time away from home regularly. In return our client offers a generous salary plus company vehicle and ongoing product and self-improvement training programmes.
As a Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for working on a range of medical equipment including Steam Sterilizers, Instrument Washer Disinfectors, Endoscope Washer Disinfectors, and Steam Generations. Some of your duties will include:
- Mechanical servicing of equipment and routine testing
- Electrical/mechanical fault finding of equipment
- Calibration of equipment, where necessary
- Maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts
- Produce quality documentation for submission to the Client
- Read and comply with current relevant legislative documentation
- Maintain regular communication with the internal Service Department
- Create a positive rapport with customers, demonstrating first class interpersonal skills in a courteous and professional manner at all times
- Ensure the company equipment is being used and looked after correctly and that it is kept in a safe condition
- Observe the company policy on Health & Safety at Work
- Ensure safe and tidy working including use of Personal Protective Equipment
- Produce written/electronic reports, as and when required/requested
- Provide Validation reports in specified time frames
- To undertake any other duties as and when required
The successful Skilled Medical Field Service Engineer must be qualified by experience or have a minimum of a Minimum City & Guilds Levels 1 & 2 or an equivalent qualification in electrical and/or mechanical engineering (essential). CSCS (Service & Facilities) HVACR Skills Card (desirable). HTM2030/01-06 or HTM2010/01-01 certification (desirable). Previous experience in a maintenance environment, ideally within a medical, pharmaceutical or other process industry. It is essential you have valid UK driving licence, good IT skills, and excellent communication skills and have the self-motivation and the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team. Although not essential candidates with electrical experience would be highly desirable.
For the successful Apprentice Service Engineer position, you will ideally have a Grade C / 4 or above GCSE (or equivalent qualification) and will need to be resourceful, show initiative, good analytical skills and show that you can deal with multiple tasks and work under pressure. You should be someone who has an inquisitive mind and has a natural passion for engineering and hands on experience, for example, re-wiring of equipment, stripping of cars / engineers or other engineering principles would be welcomed. You must be reliable, punctual, IT literate and is committed to attending college or appropriate training establishments as required. Candidates must also be able to work individually as well as part of a team and have a valid UK Driving Licence.
