We are currently recruiting for an experienced Crane Supervisor / Lift Supervisor for a busy civils project in Exeter. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, safety awareness, and the ability to coordinate all lifting operations on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all lifting operations in line with lift plans and method statements
- Ensure all lifts are carried out safely and in compliance with LOLER and site procedures
- Brief and manage crane teams, including operators and slinger/signallers
- Carry out slinging and signalling duties when required (essential part of the role)
- Conduct pre-lift checks and ensure correct lifting accessories are used
- Maintain clear communication with site management and lifting teams
- Stop operations if unsafe practices are observed
- Ensure all documentation, permits, and lift plans are adhered to
Requirements
- CPCS Blue Card – Crane Supervisor / Lift Supervisor (A62 or equivalent)
- CPCS Slinger/Signaller (A40) – essential
- Proven experience supervising lifting operations on civils/construction sites
- Strong understanding of lift plans, RAMS, and site safety procedures
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Safety Critical Medical (preferred on infrastructure projects)
Desirable
- Experience in utilities, infrastructure, or large-scale civils projects
- Appointed Person knowledge (advantageous but not essential)
- Ability to step in and support the team operationally when required
