Training Specialist - Instructional Designer in Cardiff

• Be part of a fast-paced Learning and Development team that focuses on quality deliverables, teamwork, knowledge sharing and attention to details.
• Design, develop, and implement engaging and effective learning experiences that align with Darwin’s strategic goals and support our internal employees’ growth as well as deliver high standards training materials for our clients.
• This role requires collaboration with subject matter experts and stakeholders to create training solutions that enhance performance and drive business results.

What you need to have:

• Proven experience in instructional design, preferably in a corporate or technology-driven environment. (+3 years)
• Strong knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning theories.
• Proficiency with elearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud suite or similar.
• Proficiency in applying branding guidelines to specific materials.
• General knowledge of AI design tools.
• Basic understanding of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging learning materials; strong SME communication skills.
• Solid self‑management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to assess training effectiveness and learner outcomes.
• Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.

What can you expect?

• Conduct needs analysis assessments to identify learning gaps and organizational training requirements.
• Design and develop instructional materials for various delivery methods including elearning, virtual platform simulations, videos and blended learning.
• Create clear, measurable learning objectives aligned with learning principles.
• Develop storyboards, course content, assessments, and facilitator guides.
• Incorporate multimedia elements such as videos, interactive activities, and simulations to enhance learner engagement.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
• Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to deploy learning programs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics; recommend improvements.
• Stay current with instructional design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve learning solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree.
• Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and accessibility standards.
• Learning and Design course portfolio.
• Use of multimedia, interactivity, gamification, and novel instructional strategies to enhance learner engagement and retention.
• Precision in content development, editing, and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and clarity.
