Across MM and JNB we have over 2,600 employees working together across the UK.

Working in close collaboration with our clients and supply chain, we deliver projects all the way from feasibility through to construction, commissioning, and handover - with a focus on providing great outcomes. We are assisting various UK water companies to deliver a range of vital projects as part of our ongoing design and build frameworks. In particular, our hydraulic modelling team are providing inputs to reduce the risk of spill to the environment from storm overflows.

Our busy and growing team are looking for a talented individual to support us on our current and upcoming projects as a Graduate Hydraulic Modeller in Durham. This role is a key part of the water team, and you will be working on exciting and diverse projects throughout the northeast and the rest of the UK.

What you’ll do:

  • Support on hydraulic modelling studies, Sewerage Management Planning, Network Modelling as well as other projects requiring detailed technical analysis / asset management
  • Searching for and organising data and information
  • Data analysis, visualisation and programming (e.g. FME, Power BI and other tools)
  • Feasibility studies/options development: Asset Performance Assessments/Reviews, Report preparation/drawings, scheduling of work for sub-contractors and third-party survey teams, and liaison during the projects
  • Provide technical capability on wastewater projects as part of a project team
  • Assist the Project Manager in the management/co-ordination of projects
  • Attend and contribute to project meetings
  • Contributing to technical reports and presentations
  • Supporting the development of proposals for new projects

What you’ll need:

  • Relevant degree-level qualification (e.g.: Geography, Hydrology, Environmental Science)
  • Able to collaborate and work effectively within a multidiscipline and diverse team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An interest in developing a career in Urban Drainage modelling/Asset management to gain a full understanding of new projects and different clients, which will provide fresh experiences and support your development
