M&M Supply is recruiting a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist education provision in Bristol. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting a pupil with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), Autism (ASC), ADHD and additional learning needs.

About the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in this specialist setting, you will:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to a pupil's EHCP
  • Support students with SEMH, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD and attachment needs
  • Implement positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
  • Promote emotional regulation, resilience and independence
  • Support access to the curriculum in a structured, therapeutic environment
  • Work closely with teachers, SENDCo and pastoral teams
  • Build strong, consistent relationships to support long-term progress

This role requires patience, consistency and a calm, nurturing approach.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • SEN Teaching Assistant roles
  • SEMH Support / Behaviour Support Assistant roles
  • Autism Support Worker positions
  • Youth work or residential care
  • Trauma-informed education settings

You should:

  • Be resilient, empathetic and confident managing behaviour
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Be committed to inclusion and supporting vulnerable learners
  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
