Responsible to: HR Advisor/HR Business Partner
Job Purpose: To facilitate a wide range of HR related activity to support the employee experience whilst ensuring compliance to employment legislation.
Key Result Areas
- Operational Measures: Providing timely and accurate advice to support managers with people opportunities or concerns. Managing casework, including employee relations, managing sickness absence and all administration associated with cases.
- Quality Standards: To ensure all tasks are carried out to a high standard, and in accordance with employment legislation.
- Health & Safety: Under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, as an employee, you must take reasonable care for the health & safety of yourself and for other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work. You are also required to make yourself aware of the Company's health and safety policies and to report any accidents/incidents/near misses.
- Hygiene: As an employee you will follow the Company hygiene policy by implementing high standards of personal hygiene, following hygiene rules and carrying out responsibilities for cleaning including a 'clean as you go' policy. You have a responsibility under the law to follow Food Hygiene Regulations and you will do this by following our hygiene rules, which will ensure the safety and quality of our products.
Accountabilities:
- To provide professional advice to all managers on HR, employment legislation and procedural issues, ensuring that all issues are closed out within appropriate timescales.
- Managing casework to ensure employee relations such as disciplinary, grievance, flexible working requests, performance and absence issues are managed and implemented effectively.
- Analytical experience; the role will include weekly and monthly HR reporting.
- Support the HR Advisor/HR Business Partner with ad-hoc projects.
- Maintaining all data in SAP, letter writing, filing, and any administration tasks as required.
- Understanding the business/site issues, priorities and key drivers and their effect on the business.
- Reviewing and acting on functional/operations KPIs that measure and monitor the effectiveness of the HR strategy to improve people’s work experience and performance.
- Updating HR policies in line with upcoming employment law changes.
- Ensuring managers buy into the people issues within their respective areas and manage accordingly.
- Managing maternity, retirement and all other related processes.
- Presenting training to managers on a range of HR related topics.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Previous HR experience is essential with a good knowledge of employment legislation.
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication.
- IT knowledge (SAP, Microsoft Office etc.) and an understanding of HR systems.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Organisational and multi-tasking skills.
- Focus on quality while being commercially and customer aware.
- Respect for and ability to manage confidential/sensitive information.
- HR Qualification desirable but not essential.
