Make a Meaningful Difference in the Weston Super Mare SEN Community. M&M Supply is an education recruitment agency working in partnership with a number of SEN Schools across Weston Super Mare and various other areas in Somerset. We are currently recruiting passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). We offer roles from day to day/short term cover and also long term/temp to perm roles. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within specialist education settings that prioritise inclusive practice, pupil wellbeing, and personalised learning.
About the Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
- Support learners with ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs
- Assist in delivering personalised learning programmes tailored to individual needs and support plans
- Promote positive behaviour strategies in line with school policies
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams
- Support pupils with personal care needs where required
Who We're Looking For
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEN/ALN (school, care, youth work, support work or similar)
- Are patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Are confident supporting pupils with additional behavioural or emotional needs
- Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or are willing to obtain one)
Experience within specialist settings or working with pupils with complex needs would be highly advantageous.
