To strengthen our motivated Team at our Packaging Plant in Bradford, we are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and reliable Warehouse Operator within our Despatch Warehouse department based at our site in Bradford (m/f/d). The successful candidate will play a key part in maintaining the smooth day-to-day running of our supply chain operations and will be responsible for:

  • Picking and packing orders
  • Loading/unloading pallets
  • Stock management
  • The dispatch of goods in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Person Specification:

Successful candidates should be educated to a good standard with previous experience of working within a warehouse position, preferably within FMCG. Knowledge of machinery and certification to operate Counterbalance and a Ride on Pallet Truck is essential to this role, as well as previous skills and knowledge of working within a fast-paced and ever-changing warehouse and manufacturing environment. Candidates must have sound knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety alongside the ability to adhere to company policy and procedures. The ability to work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills is essential to this role, as well as the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Individuals must be able to prioritise their workload and work effectively when under pressure, as working to tight deadlines is part of this role. Applicants should have a flexible approach to working, be both externally and internally customer focused, and be both reliable and methodical. A sound knowledge of IT packages as well as attention to detail and excellent numeracy skills are also essential to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks, forklifts, and scanners.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, whilst maintaining close quality monitoring.
  • Ensure picking and loading is completed in accordance with booked collection times and whilst working towards set targets and agreed standards of productivity.
  • Ensure any damaged goods or missing inventory are not accepted and reported to the Warehouse Senior Team Leader.
  • Entry of deliveries on the goods receipt’s facility of the computer.
  • Perform stock checks and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure all goods are stored safely and in agreement with company procedures.
  • Raising complaints in standards or visual quality or deliveries, reporting immediately to Production Supervisor.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure orders are dispatched on time and in full.
  • Help to resolve issues identified through Customer Complaints, identifying root cause with effective corrective actions, ensuring documentation is detailed and accurate.
  • Help maintain the required standards of GMP and cleaning within the Warehouse.
  • Issue relevant paperwork and computer entries for returns and suppliers.
  • Carry out all the necessary checks for process, quality, hygiene and HACCP, ensuring accurate documentation is completed.
  • Pack and prepare orders for dispatch in line with work instructions and required specifications, ensuring target dates and manufacturing deadlines are met, adhering to Corporate Manufacturing Standards.
  • Ensure the quality of the product is maintained and that Corporate Quality Standards are adhered to at all times during the storage, picking and loading process.
  • Work as part of a team to meet productivity and quality targets.
  • Follow Health and Safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Our Offer:

Hours of work: This is a continental working pattern working days and nights, 36 hours per week with paid breaks. The normal hours of work are based on 3 x 12-hour shifts per week on a 4-week rotating basis:

  • Week 1: 06.00 – 18.00 Monday to Wednesday
  • Week 2: 18.00 – 6.00 Sunday to Tuesday
  • Week 3: 06.00 – 18.00 Thursday to Saturday
  • Week 4: 18.00 – 06.00 Wednesday to Friday

On occasion, due to the nature of this role you will need to demonstrate a certain amount of flexibility.
