MM Group are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and reliable Cut & Crease Operator within our Cut & Crease department based at our site in Bradford.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Cut & Crease Department ensuring production targets and quality standards are met. The role is responsible for Setting and Operation of Cut and Crease Machinery including BOBST Expertcut 106 PER, BOBST Novacut 106 ER and BOBST Novacut 106 ER Accuregister in the production of Pharmaceutical Cartons.
Person Specification:
Successful candidates should be educated to a good standard with previous experience of working within manufacturing, preferably within the Pharma Industry. Knowledge of operating machinery, specifically BOBST and Cut & Crease machines, as well as previous skills and knowledge of working within a fast paced and ever-changing production and manufacturing environment is essential for this role. Candidates must have sound knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety alongside the ability to adhere to company policy and procedures. The ability to work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills is essential to this role, as well as the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Individuals must be able to prioritise their workload and work effectively when under pressure, as working to tight deadlines is part of this role. Applicants should have a flexible approach to working, be both externally and internally customer focussed and be both reliable and methodical. A sound knowledge of IT packages is essential for this role as well as administration skills, attention to detail and excellent numeracy skills. GMP knowledge, IOSH certification, and Lean Six Sigma knowledge and accreditation would also be desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient production service for the Cut & Crease department.
- Achieve daily/weekly production targets.
- Maximising machine efficiency.
- Minimise machine downtime.
- Setting and running Bobst and other die cutting machinery.
- Effectively running the Cut & Crease machines, identifying and reporting any necessary maintenance faults and requirements.
- Proactively work in partnership with production and engineering departments to log faults and improve the flow of communication regarding concerns to increase performance of all Bobst machines.
- Ensuring all jobs are completed accurately, on time and meet stipulated deadlines.
- Carry out reconciliation of quantity required, and quantity produced, ensuring the right number of sheets are effectively cut & creased as per customer and production demand.
- Producing and reviewing products against the prescribed customer standards and specifications supplied.
- Complete quality inspections and line clearance procedures ensuring all finished product meets the required specifications.
- Meet department & site KPI’s and complete all the relevant company paperwork.
- Maintenance and general housekeeping ensuring H&S and GMP requirements are met.
- Adopt a flexible approach to work and undertake any other duties to support the effective running of the Cut & Crease department and wider business.
- Support all new and existing employees in Cut & Crease related activities.
- Assist in group-related projects and Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
Our Offer
Hours of work:
- This is a continental working pattern working days and nights, 36 hours per week with paid breaks.
- The normal hours of work are based on 3 x 12-hour shifts per week on a 4-week rotating basis:
- Week 1: 06.00 – 18.00 Monday to Wednesday
- Week 2: 18.00 – 6.00 Sunday to Tuesday
- Week 3: 06.00 – 18.00 Thursday to Saturday
- Week 4: 18.00 – 06.00 Wednesday to Friday
