We have an exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced Training Team in Alconbury as an MHE Trainer. In this role you will deliver training programs for various types of material handling equipment (MHE) to our on-site operations team.
Purpose of the role: To develop and deliver MHE training to our employees ensuring the safe and proper use of MHE across all MM Flowers sites. The MHE Trainer will be responsible for ensuring that training records are kept up to date, coordinating the planning and delivery of Novice, Refresher and Conversion courses for our teams, ensuring delivery of this training is completed in time and correctly for the delivery of our day to day running and peak periods.
Core responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for various types of material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet pullers, reach trucks, etc.).
- Conduct both classroom and hands-on training sessions to certify employees in the safe operation of MHE and pre-use checks.
- Assess and evaluate trainees’ performance to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate training records and certification documentation.
- Collaborate with the safety and planning teams to identify training needs and improve overall warehouse safety.
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide refresher courses and ongoing training for existing employees.
- Developing and updating training materials and manuals to ensure they are current and meet industry standards.
- Update training materials and programs as needed to reflect changes in regulations and best practices.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Providing guidance and support to employees on best practices for MHE operations.
Role overview:
- Pay: up to £34,000 per annum
- Shift pattern: Work only 7 days in 14 with our 4 on, 3 off, 3 on, 4 off shift pattern working, Sunday - Wednesday
- Hours: 6:30am-7pm per day / 40.25 average hours per week
Experience required: Existing RTITB/ITSSAR qualification (or equivalent)
About you:
- Certified MHE Trainer with relevant qualifications – RTITB/ITSSAR preferable
- Instructor qualifications in PPT, Reach, Counterbalance training
- Train The Trainer Certificate desirable
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations related to MHE operations
- Ability to develop and update training materials and manuals
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to assess and evaluate employee performance effectively
- Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement
- Proven experience in training and certifying operators on various types of material handling equipment (MHE)
