The Logistics Manager will provide design, development and execution of systems and processes necessary to support our rapidly growing company. In addition, management of Logistics, a full procurement process, effective supplier relationships, optimised inventory, and availability. Responsibility will encompass the full supply chain; in-bound logistics; 3rd party warehousing and fulfilment providers.
To manage the Supply Chain function with specific regard to the logistical planning, supply, storage and delivery of raw materials and finished goods to site. To deliver an effective and efficient plan against daily, weekly, and annual forecast and targets. Must be aware of the whole Supply Chain including to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
To plan, monitor analyse and communicate the Logistic activities to the senior operations and planning teams, to ensure it stays in line with the business’ strategy, delivering world class levels of operational performance.
The Primary objectives of the role include:
- To ensure the cost effective, efficient, and uninterrupted supply of stock to meet all customer demands.
- Support the Leadership Team to drive company operational performance and capability.
- Partner with Internal planning, commercial, operational and technical colleagues and build strong contacts with 3rd party providers to identify and leverage opportunities for advantaged performance and relationships.
- Manage a team – talent and performance management.
- Providing a clear direction of the Warehouse and Logistics function.
- Mentoring, coaching, and developing a team of highly motivated specialists.
- Identifying gaps in skills and knowledge and providing solutions for filling them.
- Working closely with other members of the leader team and wider operations team to achieve the business aims.
- Liaising with suppliers, distributors, and other colleagues.
- Preparing regular reports and KPI’s, compiling data from direct reports.
- Carrying out best practice research and presenting findings and recommendations.
- Continuously monitor and report on the suitability and robustness of our Warehousing systems.
- Identify gaps in current systems and procedures.
- Work with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders, and 3rd party providers to find best practice solutions.
- Working with the wider business team and external suppliers to implement Warehouse management systems.
- Ensure compatibility with existing systems and current/proposed ways of working.
- Work with all 3rd party logistics and fulfilment providers to ensure a market leading service and customer experience is delivered.
- Establish suitable providers of logistics services as we expand into other markets.
