From growing and sourcing to packing and distribution, our people are at the heart of everything we do — and their safety, wellbeing, and development are our highest priorities.

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Group Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to lead our HSE strategy across all MM Flowers sites in the UK and Europe. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, this is a pivotal leadership role that sets the direction for health, safety, and environmental performance across the business. You will be responsible for shaping our Group-wide HSE strategy, ensuring compliance with legislation, and cultivating a proactive safety culture where everyone feels responsible for maintaining safe and sustainable working environments. This role is perfect for a hands-on, strategic leader who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and is passionate about making a measurable impact on safety culture and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a robust, forward-thinking Health, Safety, and Environmental strategy aligned with MM Flowers' operational goals.
  • Lead and mentor a team of HSE professionals, ensuring consistency and high performance across all sites.
  • Oversee risk management, compliance, and auditing to ensure full adherence to UK and EU H&S legislation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, promoting best practice and a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Partner with senior leaders and operational teams to embed HSE priorities into everyday decision-making.
  • Provide insightful reporting and analysis to the executive team, translating data into actionable outcomes.
  • Lead incident investigations and share lessons learned across the business.
  • Champion health and wellbeing programmes that support the physical and mental wellbeing of all colleagues.

About You

You will be a confident, credible leader with a proven ability to drive cultural and behavioural change. You will have:

  • A NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and significant experience in a senior HSE role, ideally across multiple sites.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK and EU health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • A proven track record of delivering measurable safety improvements.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills — able to inspire, influence, and engage at all levels.
  • Analytical acumen to interpret data and identify trends that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Membership of a professional body (e.g. CMIOSH) is desirable.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, or similar fast-paced operational environment.
