MM Flowers is seeking an experienced ESG Lead – Risk & Reporting to play a critical role in the evolution of our ESG strategy and governance framework. This is a high-impact position responsible for leading our ESG reporting, disclosure governance, and risk management integration, ensuring high-quality, audit-ready disclosures aligned to evolving global standards. You will strengthen ESG oversight across the organisation and embed risk practices that enhance resilience, inform strategic decision-making, and drive long-term sustainable value creation.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of ESG, you will act as the technical lead for ESG reporting while integrating ESG risk into our enterprise governance frameworks. This role offers the opportunity to influence at senior level and shape how ESG risk and reporting supports our long-term business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ESG reporting and disclosures across MM Flowers, including engagement with shareholders, suppliers, and retail customers
- Prepare the annual integrated report and wider ESG disclosures
- Ensure alignment with frameworks and regulations including TCFD, TNFD, ISSB and CSR
- Establish and maintain robust ESG data governance, controls and audit trails
- Develop ESG dashboards, KPIs and performance reporting
- Coordinate cross-functional data collection processes
- Support external assurance (limited and reasonable assurance readiness)
- Monitor emerging ESG standards and translate them into practical reporting processes
ESG Governance & Risk Integration
- Advise senior management on ESG regulatory developments and disclosure obligations
- Embed ESG risks and opportunities within the enterprise risk management framework
- Integrate ESG considerations into strategy, scenario analysis, capital allocation and business continuity planning
- Strengthen governance frameworks to enhance long-term resilience and value creation
- Promote strong ESG risk culture and ensure consistency between oversight, controls and disclosures
Wider Corporate Governance Support
- Support maintenance and enhancement of the corporate risk register
- Partner with the Company Secretary to ensure adherence to governance codes and best practice
- Enhance risk governance frameworks to support agility and resilience
- Promote strong disclosure governance and accountability across the organisation
About You
You will bring:
- Strong experience in ESG reporting, sustainability disclosures or non-financial reporting
- Experience establishing ESG data controls and supporting external assurance
- Familiarity with enterprise risk management and governance reporting
- Advanced stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and challenge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to translate complex information into compelling narratives
- Experience using data to generate insight and inform decisions
- A track record of building strong internal relationships
Desirable
- Experience within global cut flower production or perishable supply chains
- Exposure to retail customers or large corporate ESG data requests
- Project management experience across cross-functional regulatory or reporting programmes
