Head of Commercial in-store floral business. This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for driving commercial strategy, profitability, and long-term growth. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of the business, building strong partnerships, and leading a high-performing commercial team to deliver exceptional results.
Working cross-functionally with teams including NPD, Supply Chain, and Operations, you’ll ensure we consistently deliver operational excellence and outstanding commercial performance.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute a clear commercial strategy to deliver growth, profitability, and market leadership.
- Represent MM Flowers at a senior level with key customers, building trusted, long-term partnerships.
- Customer Ownership & Growth
- Act as the strategic lead.
- Identify transformational opportunities and develop tailored business plans to drive sustainable growth.
- Commercial Performance
- Own and deliver financial targets including revenue and margin.
- Optimise pricing, promotions, and product mix to maximise profitability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams to deliver seamless, customer-focused solutions.
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic account management for major retail customers.
- Develop and deliver Joint Business Plans (JBPs) aligned with long-term goals.
- Drive commercial strategy, pricing, and forecasting across key accounts.
- Monitor performance and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Champion customer needs internally and ensure alignment across the business.
- Use data and insights to inform decision-making and strategy.
- Provide regular performance updates to senior leadership.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Extensive commercial leadership experience within FMCG, ideally with a top 5 retailer.
- Proven success in delivering revenue and margin growth with full P&L ownership.
- Strong track record in building and managing senior customer relationships.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Commercially astute with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Desirable
- Experience in horticulture, fresh produce, or retail.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Rubicon).
- Experience working with NPD and category management.
