I am working with a multi-service law firm in Liverpool that is looking to appoint an experienced Criminal Advocate/Duty Solicitor to join their busy and growing criminal defence team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about publicly funded legal work and confident managing a varied criminal caseload.
The Role
- Representing clients detained at police stations
- Managing a caseload covering the full spectrum of criminal offences
- Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court, including summary trials
- Working within a fast-paced environment while maintaining high professional standards
Candidate Requirements
- Solicitor with 1+ year PQE in criminal matters
- Police Station Representative qualification
- Criminal Litigation Accreditation preferred (or willingness to obtain it)
- Strong advocacy and communication skills
- Confident managing a demanding caseload with minimal supervision
- IT proficient and comfortable using case management systems
- Pragmatic, professional, and positive approach to work
- Passion for publicly funded legal work
