We're recruiting on behalf of a leading international construction contractor for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established commercial team on a landmark project in Somerset.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the commercial delivery of a large-scale development while enjoying long-term career progression within a business renowned for delivering technically complex projects.
The Role As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial management of the project, ensuring financial performance, contractual compliance and successful project delivery from inception through to final account.
Working closely with the Commercial Manager, project teams, clients and the wider supply chain, you'll play a pivotal role in driving commercial success.
Key Responsibilities Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of a major industrial construction project.
Prepare and manage project budgets and cost forecasts.
Produce accurate cost reports and commercial forecasts.
Administer contract documentation and maintain commercial records.
Measure and value works completed.
Manage variations, claims, loss and expense submissions.
Prepare and negotiate final accounts.
Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
Support procurement activities and subcontractor commercial management.
Mentor and develop junior members of the commercial team.
About You To be considered, you'll ideally have: A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of commercial management, cost control and contract administration.
Experience managing variations, claims and final accounts.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple commercial priorities.
