As a Tier 1 NOC Engineer, you will be the first line of defence for our managed network services. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve connectivity issues across a diverse range of UK carrier products and enterprise hardware. This is a high-impact role requiring a mix of technical troubleshooting, carrier liaison, and disciplined shift handovers.
Shift Pattern: 4-on, 4-off (2 Days: 07:00–19:00 | 2 Nights: 19:00–07:00 | 4 Days Off)
Requirements
- Technical Requirements
- Networking Fundamentals: A solid understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Carrier Knowledge: Proven experience troubleshooting UK broadband and leased line products (FTTC/FTTP/Ethernet).
- Vendor Exposure: Hands-on experience (or certification) with at least one of the following:
- Juniper (Junos OS)
- Fortinet (FortiOS/FortiGate)
- MikroTik (RouterOS)
- Protocols: Basic understanding of BGP, OSPF, and VPN (IPsec/SSL) tunnels.
- SD-WAN/MPLS: Familiarity with wide-area network architectures and how they differ from standard DIA (Direct Internet Access).
- Preferred Qualifications:
- CCNA, JNCIA, or NSE 4 certifications.
- Previous experience in a 24/7 NOC environment.
- Experience with ticketing systems.
