Experienced commercial painter and decorator wanted in Bristol — £17.50–£19.50 an hour, company van, fuel card and a steady mix of maintenance and refurbishment work with a South-West contractor that does the work with its own people. 55 in-house engineers, our own vans and kit, and a busy pipeline across commercial, education and public buildings. We back our people with proper training, real benefits and the autonomy to get on and do the job right.

The role

You’ll paint and decorate across mainly commercial buildings, often occupied, on our maintenance contracts and refurbishment projects. Depending on the job, that includes:

  • Full surface preparation — filling, sanding, making good
  • Brush and roller finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, frames and joinery
  • Wallpapering and wall coverings
  • Interior and exterior decoration, including on maintenance programmes
  • Working cleanly and safely in occupied buildings — schools, offices, public sites
  • Working to our RAMS, permits and safety rules every time

Hours: Monday–Friday, 40 hours. Optional weekend and night work at time and a half (1.5×).

What you’ll need

  • Minimum 3 years’ commercial painting and decorating experience
  • NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent)
  • CSCS card
  • Full, current UK driving licence with 2+ years’ driving experience (you’ll take a company van home)
  • Happy to complete a licence check, qualifications check and basic DBS disclosure

Nice to have: IPAF/PASMA and your own hand tools.

What we offer

  • £17.50–£19.50 per hour plus company van and fuel card
  • Overtime at 1.5×: planned weekend work paid at a guaranteed minimum of 10 hours
  • Funded training and certifications to help you progress
  • Workplace pension and Cycle to Work scheme
  • Employment Hero benefits — remote GP, mental-health support and financial wellbeing tools for you and your family
  • Two company social days a year
