MLC Partners are delighted to be supporting a growing education organisation in the recruitment of a permanent Director of Quality and Governance. This is a key senior leadership appointment, offering the opportunity to shape and lead the organisation's academic quality, governance, and regulatory compliance agenda. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the institution continues to deliver academic excellence, maintain regulatory compliance, and provide an outstanding student experience.

The Role

As a member of the senior leadership team, you will provide strategic leadership across academic quality, standards, governance, and regulatory compliance. You will ensure robust governance frameworks are in place, provide assurance to senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies, and drive a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for academic quality, governance, and regulatory compliance across the institution.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with OfS conditions of registration and wider higher education regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and develop governance frameworks, committees, and reporting structures to support effective decision-making.
  • Act as the key point of contact for awarding bodies, university partners, and external regulators.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of quality assurance policies, frameworks, and enhancement initiatives.
  • Provide executive oversight of quality metrics, student outcomes, institutional risk, and performance reporting.

About You

  • Extensive experience leading academic quality, governance, or regulatory compliance functions within higher education.
  • Expert knowledge of OfS conditions of registration and the UK higher education regulatory landscape.
  • Proven track record of advising senior leaders and governing bodies on quality, risk, and compliance matters.
  • Strong experience managing relationships with awarding bodies, university partners, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Master's degree or equivalent relevant qualification.
