We are supporting an NHS organisation to deliver a 12-month sickness absence reduction programme, and are seeking experienced Sickness Absence Case Managers (Band 7 level) to support delivery. This is a hands-on, operational role focused on actively managing long-term and repeat absence cases, supporting managers, and improving return-to-work outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of long-term and repeat sickness absence cases
  • Support managers with return-to-work planning and absence management
  • Facilitate timely Occupational Health referrals and follow-up actions
  • Identify risks of recurrence and support preventative interventions
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to programme reporting
  • Work closely with HR, operational teams and the Project Lead
  • Hosting workshops and upskilling managers around the sickness absence process

Key Requirements

  • Experience managing sickness absence cases within the NHS
  • Strong understanding of absence management processes and policy
  • A background in Employee Relations
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Able to be on-site in Kent regularly
