We are recruiting an Interim Deputy Head of HR on behalf of a public sector organisation. This is an initial 3-month assignment, supporting the Head of HR in a senior leadership capacity during a period of operational demand and change.

The Role

  • Provide hands-on, senior HR leadership across a complex, unionised environment.
  • Lead complex employee relations and casework.
  • Advise senior leaders on HR risk, policy and workforce issues.
  • Support organisational change and service improvement activity.
  • Provide leadership to the HR team and deputise for the Head of HR as required.

About You

  • You will be an experienced senior HR professional with strong employee relations expertise and sound knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Experience operating at senior level within the public sector or similarly complex organisations.
  • Experience of working with Unions.
  • Confidence working in fast-paced, operational environments.
  • Experience within the public sector is essential.

Contract Details

  • Duration: Initial 3 months (with potential extension).
  • Rate: Approximately Β£300–£350 per day.
  • Working Pattern: On site 2–3 days per week (hybrid).
