We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for an Events and Marketing Manager to join a small, collaborative Membership, Marketing and Communications team during an exciting period of growth, supporting an ambitious strategy to expand reach and impact. You’ll have experience planning, delivering and promoting large-scale events, and be creative, organised and confident engaging diverse audiences across digital and in-person channels.
Our client is a membership-led, not-for-profit organisation supporting professionals in a nationally significant sector, helping members connect, develop and make a positive difference to the environment and communities they serve.
Key Areas of Accountability- Planning and delivering the annual conference and associated events, including budget management.
- Developing and managing sponsorship and exhibition packages and relationships.
- Identifying, planning and delivering other national events.
- Providing marketing and administrative support for volunteer-led events.
- Chairing the Events Committee to ensure best practice and volunteer collaboration.
- Managing and developing digital platforms, including website and social media, using tools such as Google Analytics, WordPress and Campaign Monitor (or similar).
- Creating, delivering and assessing growth-focused marketing campaigns.
- Maintaining brand consistency across all events and marketing activities.
- Tracking and reporting on the success of events and marketing in supporting organisational growth.

- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Experience creating engaging content across digital and offline channels (e.g., Canva).
- Working knowledge of WordPress and SEO; awareness of emerging AI tools.
- Confident relationship-builder, able to resolve issues professionally and work with diverse groups.
- Experience of, or interest in, working with volunteers.
- Commitment to professional development, including membership of (or willingness to join) a relevant professional body.
- Achieving delegate and income targets for major events.
- Strong satisfaction ratings from delegates, sponsors and exhibitors.
- Demonstrating the impact of events on membership growth.
- Effective marketing campaign outcomes.
- Positive working relationships with stakeholders.
- Modelling organisational values of inclusivity, collaboration, sustainability and sociability.

- Salary of £34,000–£36,500 plus up to 8% pension contribution.
- Up to £500 to support membership of relevant professional bodies.
