Assistant Trust Secretary - NHS London Fixed-Term Contract / Interim Opportunity Band 6 (Band 7 considered for exceptional candidates with significant governance experience) We are working with a London-based NHS Trust to recruit an Assistant Trust Secretary to support the delivery of high-quality corporate governance services across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to Board-level operations, governance processes, and regulatory compliance within a complex healthcare setting. For candidates with substantial governance experience, particularly within the NHS or another highly regulated environment, appointment at Band 7 may be considered. The Role As Assistant Trust Secretary, you will play a key role in supporting the Trust's governance framework and ensuring the smooth operation of Board and Committee processes. Key responsibilities will include: Supporting the administration of Board, Committee and Council of Governor meetings Preparing agendas, collating papers and ensuring timely distribution of meeting documentation Taking accurate minutes and monitoring the completion of actions Maintaining governance registers, records and statutory documentation Supporting compliance with regulatory, constitutional and governance requirements Assisting with the preparation of governance reports and annual submissions Supporting governor engagement, membership activities and election processes Working closely with Executive Directors, Non-Executive Directors and senior stakeholders across the organisation Contributing to the continuous improvement of governance systems and processes About You We are looking for an individual who is highly organised, detail-oriented and confident working with senior stakeholders. You will have: Previous experience within NHS governance, corporate governance or company secretariat functions Experience supporting committees, boards or senior management teams Excellent organisational and administrative skills Strong written communication skills, including minute-taking and report preparation The ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines High levels of discretion and experience handling confidential information
