Interim Head of Finance – Adult Social Care

Circa £650 per day | Inside IR35 Interim contract
I am working with a London local authority to recruit an experienced Interim Head of Finance – Adult Social Care to lead the finance support across a large and complex service area.
This role will suit someone who has operated at Head of Finance / Senior Finance Business Partner level within local government, with strong Adult Social Care experience and the ability to work closely with senior officers across Finance and the service.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the finance support across Adult Social Care
- Provide strategic financial advice to Directors and senior management
- Lead on budget monitoring, forecasting and reporting
- Support the MTFS, budget setting and savings programme
- Provide challenge around demand-led pressures, care packages and commissioning Identify financial risks, pressures and mitigating actions
- Support delivery of savings and transformation initiatives
- Ensure robust financial information is provided to senior leadership Lead and develop the finance team supporting the directorate
- Work closely with Corporate Finance and wider stakeholders across the Council
What we're looking for:
- Strong local government finance experience – essential
- Previous Adult Social Care finance experience – essential
- Experience operating at Head of Finance / senior finance leadership level
- Strong understanding of ASC demand, commissioning and financial pressures
- Proven experience across MTFS, budget setting, forecasting and savings
- Comfortable working directly with Directors and senior stakeholders
- Strong team leadership and business partnering skills
- CCAB/CIMA qualification
This is a good opportunity for an experienced ASC finance lead who can come in quickly, get on top of the financial position and provide strong support and challenge to the service.
