MLC Partners are supporting a fantastic charity in the recruitment of a Part-Time Finance Manager / Financial Accountant to join their team on a remote basis.
This is a broad and hands-on finance position, suited to someone who enjoys combining strong technical accounting with the ability to operate as a strategic finance partner to senior stakeholders.
You will take ownership of core financial processes while providing meaningful insight to support planning and decision-making across the organisation.
The Role
- Supporting the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time.
- Processing purchase and sales invoices, payments, expenses and income.
- Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
- Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and year-end processes.
- Maintaining accurate financial records across restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Supporting the external audit and providing requested documentation.
- Assisting with Charity SORP and other statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Working with budget holders to resolve queries and provide clear financial information.
- Supporting improvements to finance processes, systems and controls.
- Providing ad hoc financial analysis and wider support to the finance team.
- Ideal Candidate
You will be an experienced Finance Officer, Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant, ideally with previous experience within a charity or not-for-profit organisation.
You will have strong transactional finance and reconciliation experience, excellent attention to detail and confidence working with financial systems and Excel.
You will be comfortable supporting month-end processes and working with colleagues across the organisation to resolve financial queries.
Experience of charity accounting, Charity SORP, restricted and unrestricted funds, and year-end audit would be particularly advantageous.
