Assistant Director Finance & Governance (Deputy S151 Officer)
Up to £850 | Council in the South East | 6 month contract | Hybrid
A local authority in the south east is looking to appoint an experienced interim Assistant Director Finance & Governance to act as Deputy Section 151 Officer and provide strategic leadership across Finance and Governance Services.
The role will provide senior leadership across:
- Finance, Revenues & Benefits
- Commercial & Procurement
- Audit, Risk & Insurance
- Corporate governance and assurance
- Service improvement and transformation
- Major corporate projects and financial governance
Strong experience within local government finance and governance is essential, including a detailed understanding of local government constitutions, financial regulations, governance frameworks and statutory requirements.
You will have a proven track record of leading teams, delivering service improvements and working effectively with Chief Executives, senior stakeholders and elected Members.
