We are hiring on behalf of our client who develops high-performance financial technology infrastructure, offering market-leading integration service products that deliver flexible, hosted connectivity solutions to institutional financial customers. By resolving complex connectivity challenges across multiple trading venues, our client eliminates the need for internal software engineering and operations resources on the customer side to build bespoke trading infrastructure.
The successful candidate will take operational ownership of provisioning laptops, facilitating employee onboarding, configuring high-performance developer stations, and providing advanced desktop support across multi-platform environments including macOS, Linux, and Windows. This position is highly visible internally and serves as the technical foundation for long-term growth into production engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Endpoint & Device Management: Oversee the deployment, advanced provisioning, configuration, and structural setup of all corporate endpoint hardware spanning macOS, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
- Onboarding & Workplace Support: Manage the technical execution of employee onboarding pipelines, serving as the primary engineering point of contact for deep tier-2/3 desktop support.
- Developer Environment Optimization: Maintain, support, and scale engineering pairing stations, dedicated Linux laptops, standalone kiosk devices, and automated system rebuild workflows to ensure peak operational reliability.
- Tooling & MDM Administration: Direct and fine-tune endpoint management frameworks, mobile device management (MDM) platforms, and configuration automation tools, specifically utilizing Ansible, Jamf, and Microsoft Intune.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Procure, validate, test, and catalog corporate physical infrastructure, shared office engineering hardware, and peripheral technical components.
- Automation & Continuous Improvement: Proactively isolate recurring operational issues, eliminating manual workflow friction through shell scripting, automated provisioning design, and strategic process enhancements.
- SRE Transition: Partner closely with Senior SRE team members to progressively absorb production infrastructure tasks, system monitoring duties, and core site reliability principles.
- Technical Support Foundations: Demonstrated hands‑on track record owning desktop systems engineering, endpoint architecture, workplace technology management, or complex desktop support operations within highly technical environments.
- Cross-Platform Operating Systems: Advanced cross-platform troubleshooting capabilities across Linux, macOS, and Windows operating systems.
- Modern Workplace Tooling: Hands‑on operational experience using modern endpoint administration, MDM, and automation suites such as Jamf, Microsoft Intune, and Ansible.
- Core Systems Fundamentals: Demonstrated comfort operating within the command-line interface (CLI), drafting systems scripts, configuring hardware rebuild processes, and managing fundamental network configurations.
- Proactive Delivery Style: A practical, self-sufficient, and ownership-driven mentality, with a genuine willingness to take complete accountability for physical office infrastructure and hardware performance.
- Professional Trajectory: A clear, defined motivation to evolve technically and professionally into a Production Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role.
- Commute Compliance: Willingness and ability to work regularly from our client’s modern office facilities located in the Moorgate area of London (minimum of 1+ days per week).
- Competitive Remuneration: Base salary funding up to £60,000 per annum, directly scaled to professional experience and technical capability.
- Equity Participation: Access to the corporate share options scheme, ensuring alignment with long-term business success.
