Due to continued growth within the Professional Valuation Team, they are now seeking an experienced Residential Valuation Surveyor to join their Cambridge Head Office.

The Opportunity
You will join an established Professional Valuation Team delivering high-quality residential valuation work across a varied instruction base. The role offers a high degree of autonomy and is well suited to an experienced valuer seeking flexibility, independence, and a strong work‑life balance. The position can be structured on a full‑time or part‑time basis (3–5 days per week), with hybrid or office‑based working available depending on preference. The typical geographical coverage is within a 25-mile radius of Cambridge.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake Red Book valuations of predominantly residential property for IHT, CGT, acquisition, disposal and related purposes
- Carry out property inspections and prepare accurate, compliant valuation reports
- Produce Expert Witness reports where appropriate (depending on experience)
- Ensure all work complies with RICS standards, relevant legislation and internal quality procedures
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients and industry contacts
- Attend networking and business development events to support future instructions
About You
- MRICS or FRICS qualified (essential)
- RICS Registered Valuer
- Minimum of 2 years’ post‑qualification experience in residential valuation
- Confident working independently and managing your own caseload
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- High attention to detail and professional integrity
- Strong IT skills, with ability to adapt to digital workflows
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use
Systems & Working Practice
The team currently uses a combination of traditional site note‑taking methods alongside modern valuation technology, including AI‑driven Valos report‑writing software. Full support and training will be provided where required.
Performance & Targets
There is no points‑based system or rigid daily quota structure. Instead, performance is measured against a realistic fee target, typically 2.5–3x salary, allowing experienced valuers to manage workload in a professional and balanced way.
