We’re looking for a talented and ambitious designer with at least five years’ professional experience to join our Glasgow studio. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a friendly, collaborative team, working alongside experienced architects and designers to create inspiring, sustainable, and innovative spaces for clients across a diverse range of sectors.
At MLA, you’ll have the opportunity to further develop your technical and design skills, gain valuable site experience, and work closely with clients, suppliers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle. The Role
As a Designer at MLA, you’ll play a key role in the delivery of projects from concept through to completion. Working as part of the wider project team, you will:
- Produce project information using Revit and other industry-standard software
- Collaborate with architects, designers, consultants, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery
- Develop design solutions that respond to client needs, budgets, and project requirements
- Prepare and coordinate technical and construction information
- Contribute throughout all RIBA work stages, from early concepts through to site delivery
- Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines creativity with strong technical ability and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within a design practice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and SketchUp
- Experience taking projects from concept to construction
- Ability to produce detailed working drawing packages
- Knowledge of FF&E, materials, finishes, and specifications
- Understanding of all RIBA work stages
- Ability to manage project budgets and respond to client briefs
- Strong teamwork skills and experience supporting junior staff
- Experience using Revit (training can be provided for the right candidate)
- Knowledge of NBS specification writing
