Our client a manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Supply Chain Lead to support the day to day coordination of materials, purchasing activities and stock management across the operation.
This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a key business function, working closely with both suppliers and internal teams to ensure products and materials are available when required.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining efficient operations whilst helping to improve planning, communication and overall supply chain performance.
- What you’ll be doing
- Managing the flow of materials from suppliers through to production.
- Building positive working relationships with suppliers and external partners.
- Placing orders and tracking deliveries to ensure business requirements are met.
- Reviewing stock levels and coordinating replenishment activity where required.
- Working alongside operational teams to support production schedules and customer demand.
- Investigating shortages, delays or supply issues and finding effective solutions.
- Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems.
- Monitoring purchasing activity and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Supporting the smooth running of day to day supply chain operations.
- The ideal candidate
- Experience gained within a manufacturing environment.
- A background in purchasing, materials planning, stock control, logistics or supply chain activities.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Confidence communicating with suppliers and colleagues at all levels.
- Experience using business systems to manage stock, purchasing or planning information.
- A practical and proactive approach to problem solving.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate information.
Salary will be dependent on experience.
