Werecruiting on behalf of an innovative engineering manufacturer seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing technical team.
This is a varied role offering involvement in new product development, engineering improvements and bespoke customer projects within a modern manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components, assemblies and systems using 3D CAD software.
- Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and bills of materials.
- Develop solutions that balance performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost.
- Support prototype manufacture, testing and product validation.
- Liaise with production, procurement and quality teams throughout the design process.
- Carry out engineering calculations and technical evaluations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience within a manufacturing, industrial or advanced engineering environment.
- Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or similar).
- Understanding of machining, fabrication and assembly processes.
- Knowledge of engineering standards and design documentation.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Knowledge of electrical or electromechanical systems would be beneficial but is not essential.

- £42,000-£52,000 depending on experience.
