Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Supporting audit assignments, including fieldwork and documentation
  • Preparing basic tax computations and assisting with personal and corporate tax returns
  • Carrying out bookkeeping tasks and preparing VAT returns
  • Drafting working papers and maintaining accurate client records
  • Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
  • Using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage
  • Supporting senior staff on a range of assignments and ad hoc projects

Essential:

  • Degree (2:1 or above) in any discipline (accounting/finance desirable but not essential)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A motivated, proactive, and professional attitude
  • Desire to pursue a career in accountancy practice

Desirable:

  • Relevant placement year experience
